Question 1

Is Sweden the best country to study in?

Accepted Answer

No country is “best” for every student. Sweden can be a strong fit for some goals and a poor fit for others. Compare cost, climate, language and program structure against your own situation.

Question 2

Do I need Swedish to study?

Accepted Answer

Many master's programs are taught in English. Daily life, some services and many part-time jobs are easier with Swedish. You can start without it, but it is worth planning to learn.

Question 3

How do applications work?

Accepted Answer

Most international students apply through University Admissions in Sweden. Each program sets its own requirements and documents. Deadlines are strict.

Question 4

Do EU students pay tuition?

Accepted Answer

Citizens of the EU/EEA and Switzerland generally do not pay tuition at Swedish public universities. Other students usually do. Confirm your status from official sources.

Question 5

How much should I budget per month?

Accepted Answer

Use the indicative breakdown on the cost of living page as a starting point. Rent is the largest and most variable item. Tuition is separate.

Question 6

Is student housing guaranteed?

Accepted Answer

No. Admission does not automatically include a room. Housing foundations, queues and private sublets are all part of the picture.

Question 7

Can I work while studying?

Accepted Answer

Many students look for part-time work. It is not guaranteed, and language often matters. Do not build your entire budget on finding a job immediately.

Question 8

What is the hardest part of the first semester?

Accepted Answer

Students often mention housing, winter darkness, and academic independence. Planning for those three reduces avoidable stress.

Question 9

Where do I confirm KTH fees?
